summerseason

Why must good things always come to an end?? We all agree, summerseason is too short! There are so many things that you wanna do but there isn't enought time to do them all. Next week it's time to go home, but luckily the mountains and la Maison du Bez will still be here next summer! Then maybe I can finish all.. or at least a few.. of my projects..

However, the summer has been lovley! Sunny and warm, I thinkt we had three days of rain in july and so far two in august. (How was the weather back in Sweden now again??? ;)) We have also had really nice guests at the hotel, some regulars, some new but hopefully becoming regulars! I will remember the lesson in multipitchclimbing, all the help with presenting the french menu, the nice poems we all got, the Belgian beer and chocolat, le decaféine and much much more... Thank you all for this summer!

Mattias explaining for me and Sophie the importance of routfinding...!

Me and Ida on the top of a 4 pitches in La Grave.

Been up on three multipitches now, the last one 7! pitches. Thanks Anna and Mattias

... Climbingseason isn't over yet but I'm actually starting to long for winter.. In a few month will the mountains be covered by frech snow.. that isn't so bad either!

Welcome to winterseason!!!!!!!!!

Traversée du Pelvoux

Pär, the chef at La Maison du Bez, turned 30 (!) this year and his present was two days with a mountainguide. The result of the present was that Pär, Jonas and me (Frida) woke up at 3.00 a.m the 16th of July in the refuge the Pelvoux, had some toasted bread and a coffe before we put on our headlamps and crampons and headet for the summit of Pelvoux. At 11.00 a.m. we reached our goal, the summit of Pelvoux (3 946m) The view was stunning! The world is really a beatiful place!! You could see all the big mountains in the area and the sun was shing on us as we felt like we were on the top of the world.. We had a cup of the and a chocolatebar before it was time to go down the 2500 m. down to Ailefrode where a cold beer was waiting. The way down was fantastic and I had songs about the mouantains in my head as we were traversing the glacier. I couldn't help thinking that next time I will do this on skiis, imagine what a run! After a bit of easy downclimbing and a few rappelles we had solid ground under our feet. We were glad about our guide Eric because the rootfinding wasn't easy. Tired, but really happy, we stumbled down to tha cafeteria around 4.00 p.m, walking like old people! The legs were almost bending themselves under us and the last km took ages! But the beer was cold and we were drank them with a big grin on our faces. Life can't get better than that!!
The morning after we woke up with sore muscles. Mon Dieu! It lasted for one week... But we had overcome the mountain!

Summer in Serre Chevalier

Hi!!

We have a nice and sunny summer here in Serre Chevalier (as usual :)). There are loads of things to do here: climbing, biking, horseriding, hiking, rafting...! The problem is to choose what you wanna do!

Whats new?

We have the pleasure to be mentioned in Le Guide du Routard, the french version of Lonley Planet. "La cuisine (tout est fait maison) ne manquera pas également de vous faire voyager vers le grand Nord... Adorable jardin pour lézarder aux beaux jours. Un rapport qualité-prix imbattable". Le Guide du Routard, Alpes 2009/2010. We are really pleased that our guests have recommended us.

We also have a new terasse, come here and try it out! A cold bear in our relaxpergola after a day in the mountains...life can be good :)

Whats next?

Sunday the 29 of July: Defi du Granon, a running and roadbike competition. A climb on 1063 m on 12 km, one of the toughest in the area. Interested??

Booze

20th day straight on the mountain and still loving it, sun snow and the daily espresso at the mountain top cafe' and life was good as always, then I started thinking, should I spend my last 5 bucks in my pocket on a chocolate bar on the hill? No, so I went down to the local supermarket to get some food but the girl at the till looked so good I started thinking about booze.. I realized I could get 3 bottles of champagne for less than 5 bucks,,, after a short chat with the girl I walked out with 3 bottles and a big smile, it was still early in the afternoon and time to suck down a couple of smokes while sippin on champagne the french way.... I love France!!

Still drinking, gotta go:)

Love

Well come to Serre Chevalier, I went freeriding then chilling at a mountain top cafe' then to the park and it was chicks everywhere..... :)
